Scene 1
Cleaning the Attic

The scene opens with a shot of Care-a-lot. The Hall of Hearts is in the middle and the Caring Meter is off to our right. An unknown yellow cloud tower (about half of the size of the Hall of Hearts) is to our left. Rainbows float between clouds around the hall. We zoom in on the attic above the Hall of Hearts, where Good Luck, Grumpy, Swift Heart, and Lotsa Heart are helping Tenderheart clean up.

(Good Luck walks across the room with a big picture of a clown. Tenderheart is wearing a blue top-hat.)

TH: Boy, cleaning up this attic took longer than I thought! Thanks for your help Good Luck Bear.

(Good Luck places the picture on some boxes.)

GL: It was a big job Tenderheart. We've sure collected a lot of stuff over the years.

(Good Luck takes Tenderheart's hat and throws it to a hat rack. Before it gets there, however, it is intercepted by Swift Heart Rabbit with a "Weeee!" and lands with a giggle. She is holding a broom and she starts sweeping the dust past Grumpy Bear who is carrying 3 boxes. Grumpy is grumbling, and when Swift Heart goes by with her dusty broom, he sneezes. Well, this sends his boxes flying! Before he can recover, he is hit in the back and carried along by a piano, being pushed by Lotsa Heart Elephant. Lotsa lets out a "HaReeeee!" and careens around pushing the piano. Finally, the piano hits something and both Lotsa and Grumpy go flying with "Whoa!"s and two "Umpf!"s at a less than soft landing. Grumpy landed with his face sticking through where the face of the clown should be in the clown picture. Tenderheart and Good Luck hear the crash and run to help. When they see Grumpy [looking like a grumpy clown], they cannot help but giggle. Swift Heart dashes up and, upon seeing Grumpy, giggles.)

SH: Quit clowning around Grumpy. (She says with a smile.)

GR: Humph! (Removes picture from his face and we can see he landed on top of Lotsa Heart, who isn't too happy about his head-warmer.) Very funny Swift Heart. (Not at all amused.)

(Tenderheart, Good Luck, and Swift Heart lean in closer to see something that Grumpy and Lotsa knocked down when they fell.)

TH: Look, an old photo album. (He picks it up and opens it.)

GL: Hey, That's us!

(The album is filled with pictures of the Care Bears as cubs.)

TH: We were no bigger than Baby Hugs and Tugs then. (Turns a page.)

SH: (Laughs loudly) I remember that! Lotsa Heart really knew how to lift my spirits! {The picture shows Baby Lotsa Heart lifting Baby Swift Heart's play pen or crib high into the air.} (She laughs some more and puts the top hat on Lotsa' head affectionatly.)

Next they see a picture of Baby Grumpy looking, well, grumpy in a big, goofy bonnet.

TH: Even as a cub, Grumpy was Grumpy!

GR: Well... you would be too ... if you had to wear a bonnet like that! (All laugh)

Next, a picture of two unknown cubs playing together.

SH: Hey! Who's that? (All lean in to look at the picture)

GL: Hmmm, I've never seen those cubs before. Are they part of the Care Bear Family?

TH: The picture's blurry. It's hard to tell, but if they're in this album, they must be! (All think about his words for a moment)

GR: But, where are they now?

Shows picture of two unknown cubs again. The discussion is interupted by the Caring Meter alarm. (All stand)

TH: (gasps) It's the Caring Meter! Someone needs our help! (All dash off, but Good Luck stops to get another look at the picture of the two unknown cubs before he, too, dashes off.)

Scene 2
Rescue Attempt

Snowy mountains and a bad blizzard can be seen below the cloud car, carrying Swift Heart Rabbit, Good Luck Bear, and Tenderheart Bear. Tenderheart is looking for whoever is in distress (using the star-o-scope) from the front passenger seat, Good Luck is looking for the same from behind the driver, and Swift Heart is driving, with an occasional look down.

TH: According to the Caring Meter, (Shows cloud car above a snowy mountain) the trouble spot should be directly below us.

SH: (glances down) That's nothing but a winter wasteland! Nobody could possibly live down there. The Caring Meter must be wrong!

GL: (Leans up to Swift Heart) But what if it's not!

TH: (Leans over to Swift Heart and Good Luck) The Care Bears can't ignore any call for help! No matter where it comes from. (turns back to searching)

GL: Don't worry, Swift Heart. (Pats Swift Heart on the shoulder) Nothing can go wrong, with Good Luck Bear on board! (Goes back to searching) Look! (Points to a green, tropical valley, seemingly untouched by the snow) That valley down there!

SH: Wow! (Cloud Car dives so they can get a better look)

TH: Hey, maybe that's where... (Cloud Car is swept out of control by the blizzard)

ALL:Whoa!

TH: The storm's getting worse! (Cloud Car continues to dive, out of control, through the blizzard) Hang on!

SH: The controls are frozen! (To Good Luck) We sure could use some of that Good Luck right now! (Car continues careening out of control) Look out beloooow! (Car dives through the lowest of the blizzard's storm clouds, and they close behind the Cloud Car, as the storm continues.)

ALL: Whoa!

GL: Ouch! (Car is shown crashed into the ground. The three occupants were thrown into a nearby snow drift.)

TH: (Comes out covered in snow) Is everyone okay? (Swift Heart and Good Luck pop out of the snow as well. The snow on Good Luck when he pops up makes him look like a rabbit and Swift Heart's makes her look like a bear.)

All shake snow from themselves, except some snow stays on Swift Heart, burrying her ears on her head.

SH: Okay?! We're stranded! We cou-ou-ou-ould (shivers) freeze out here! (all shiver) (Swift Heart's ears pop up and fling the snow away.)

GL: (looking around) There's no sign of that valley anywhere! And if we don't find shelter fast, we're in big trouble! (Shows mountains all around and two snow monsters [they look like abomidable snow men] near the crash site.) Look! Snow Monsters! (Tenderheart and Swift Heart, who were walking off to crashed cloud car, turn to look.)

TH & SH: (Look towards monsters) Snow Monsters?! (They see nothing where the monsters were.)

TH: I don't see anything. Do you Swift Heart?

SH: Not me. That crash landing must have scrambled Good Luck's eyesight! (Swift Heart and Tenderheart walk off together to asses the damage to the cloud car.

GL: (Still sitting in snow, he looks back to where the snow monsters were.) But I really did see something! Two of them. (Yells to monsters) COME BACK! COME BACK! (Shows cliff of snow coming loose because of Good Luck's yelling.)

Rumbling and Shaking

TH: No Good Luck! Stop yelling! (Runs towards Good Luck) You'll start a ... (snow comes loose and avalanche starts)

SH: (Ears go straight up with fright) AVALANCHE! Run! (Swift Heart dashes past Tenderheart and Good Luck who are also trying to escape the avalanche.)

Shows snow falling in avalanche

TH: (Shows Tenderheart and Good Luck stumbling in the snow.) We can't, the snow's too deep. (Swift Heart stops and dashes back to them.)

SH: If we can't out run it, we'll out slide it! (Uses tummy symbol to make a pink, heart-like shaped sled. She jumps on and slides to catch the other Tenderheart and Good Luck.) Weeeeee! (Grabs Tenderheart and Good Luck onto the sled as the passes them.)

TH & GL: Umph!

ALL: Whoa!

Shows sled barely ahead of avalanche and the snow catching up to them. Then the sled and its occupants are swallowed up by the snow. The next thing we see is a broken sled, then Tenderheart, Swift Heart, and Good Luck sprawled out and unconsious from second crash.

GL: Uhn-hn-hn. (Sits up very dazed.)

The two snow monsters come closer to Good Luck.

GL: Uhn-hn- Monsters. (fades into unconsiousness)

Scene 3
Where are we?

Red-orange colored song bird lifts Good Luck's eyelid. The bird chirps loudly and Good Luck comes to. He sits up and bats the bird away.

GL: Hey! Wha...? Where?! How did we get here?! Everybody wake up! (Jumps out of cot/bed)

Tenderheart is still unconsious, sucking his thumb, to left and Swift Heart is to the right.

SH: (groans) Who's using my head for a bongo drum? (Sits up dazed and holding aching head)

TH: (Sits up and grabs head) (groans) What happened?

GL: (Now kneeling at window sill looking out into a tropical paradise.) The last thing I remember was those snow monsters reaching for me. (looks to others)

SH: (Now laying down again) Again with the snow monsters! (Plops head face-down on pillow)

TH: Where are we anyway?

GL: In paradise, I think. (Looks and listens to world outside of the window) Listen to those birds!

Sounds of lots of birds singing. Scenery of a tropical paradise surrounded by snow-covered mountains. Tenderheart and Swift Heart join Good Luck at the window sill.

SH: Wow!

TH: It's beautiful!

SH: It's impossible! We're surrounded by snow and ice. This forest just shouldn't be here!

TH: (Turns to other two) But it is, Swift Heart. (Swift Heart sits back to window sill.) and the Caring Meter knew it was here. Now, it's up to us to find out who needs our help.

Sounds of footsteps. All 3 turn and look with shock suddenly dawning on their faces at the 2 snow monsters from the storm.

ALL: Snow Monsters!

Snow monsters dash towards them.

ALL: Ahhhhh!

The snow monsters cover up all 3 in their long fur. Good Luck and a Panda pop out of the massive furs right next to each other and Good Luck gasps at the no longer scarry monsters. Next, Tenderheart and another Panda pop out near each other.

TH: Huh?

Finally, Swift Heart pops out of the furs as well.

SH: Hey!

PE: (Panda next to Tenderheart) Whew! (Draws hand across head to wipe away sweat) Not only was it hot in there, we must have looked a fright. Uh, My name is Perfect Panda and my sister's name's Polite (Indicates to the right - The Panda next to Good Luck, who likes Good Luck Bear and has a little pink heart pop above her head for him.)

TH: My name's Tenderheart and (To the left) this is Swift Heart Rabbit...

SH: (Waves to Perfect Panda) Hi!

TH: ... and Good Luck Bear (who likes Polite Panda and shows a couple little pink hearts poping for her.)

PE: Pleased to meet you. (Waves to Good Luck)

PO: And to greet you. (Touches Good Luck's nose caringly)

GL: (Looks surprised and has several little hearts to share) Moma - Meme - Moomph! (Mumbles as he falls backwards and is cushioned by the furs) Uh, Me too! (Sits back up)

SH: (laughs) Looks like your luck is changing Good Luck.

PO: We're sorry if we startled you, but (picking up some of the furs) our clothing keeps us warm.

PE: These furs were absolutely necissary to rescue you from the storm.

SH: Do you always talk in rhyme?

PE: All the time. (smiles)

Scene 4
Home Sweet Home

Sounds of tropical birds' calls and a cascading waterfall. All 5 are riding in a canoe on the lake below the waterfall. Perfect is pushing the boat along with a long pole (like a gondola). In front of him, Swift Heart is lounging in the sun with heart-shaped sunglasses and with her feet on the side. Tenderheart is in front of her and is looking at the valley. Good Luck and Polite Panda (front) are enjoying each others company.

GL: What a beautiful valley! Thank you for the tour Perfect. (Picks a lilly pad out of the water and presents it to Polite) And thank you Polite.

Tenderheart and Swift Heart sigh at the peaceful serenity of the valley.

TH: This is incredible! It's just like a Forest of Feelings on Earth!

SH: It sure is! But I still can't figure out how the snow stays out and the warmth stays in.

PE: Polite and I have lived here for as long as we can remember.

PO: And every day's a sunny day; even in December.

Loud sounds of a chiruping baby bird, who has fallen into the nearby water and is drowning. Perfect uses his pole to lift the floundering bird back to his/her nest.

PO: Trouble rarely happens here. It's almost problem free.

PE: Polite and I try to keep our valley as perfect as can be.

PO: But enough about us. Now, how about you? Why are you here? And what do you do?

GL: We're members of the Care Bear Family. We help people share their feelings.

TH: That's why we've come. (Swift Heart is now sitting up.) Someone in your forest needs help.

Sounds of a boy and girl playing happily nearby.

TH: Look!

Sounds of more children laughing and playing. The boat turns to shore and lands. All look on a village where people seem to happily live, work, and play.

TH: Maybe they need our help.

SH: I don't think so Tenderheart. They all seem so happy.

TH: Well, somebody needs our help! Let's go and find out who. (Tenderheart starts to make his way through the bush to meet the villagers, but Perfect pulls him back behind the bush and out of veiw.)

PE: No! The villagers might see us!

PO: Please! Please, don't make a fuss!

Perfect and Polite dash off together to the boat. There they sit together, leaving Tenderheart on his back from being pulled behind the bush and Good Luck and Swift Heart still kneeling as they were to watch the villagers.

TH: You mean, you don't play with them?!

PE: They don't know we live here, and you might wonder why.

Three Care Bears walk down to be with the Pandas by the boat.

PO: We'd love to get to know them, but we're really much too shy. How nice to be a Care Bear, with family and friends and all.

PE: To share your love and caring, each time trouble calls.

TH: (Putting a paw to his head) I should have known! Your the ones who need our help!

SH: The Pandas?!

GL: That's right. They have no family and no friends!

TH & GL: They're lonely! (Swift Heart looks back and forth between the two Pandas.)

PE: Now that you mention it, we have been kind of sad.

PO: You're the first and only visitors that we've ever had.

GL: Tenderheart, why don't we invite Perfect and Polite back to Care-a-lot!

Pandas look to Tenderheart with a look of hopeful joy.

SH: They could become part of the Care Bear Family!

Pandas jump up and down for joy holding each others hands and jumping and dancing in a circle.

PO: Oh, that would be wonderful!

PE: Being part of a family, that we could care for, too!

Good Luck and Swift Heart go up to Perfect and Polite, who have stopped the jumping and dancing.

PO: We could meet new friends. (Hugs Good Luck)

PE: And play all day! (Pats hands with Swift Heart)

SH: Come on Tenderheart. What do ya say?

TH: (Thinks it over for a few seconds) Okay! Let's take them to Care-a-lot! Without delay! (Good Luck and Polite hug. Swift Heart and Perfect jump for joy together and Tenderheart comes over and joys them.)

ALL: Yeah!

Scene 5
Back to Care-a-lot

The cloud car, fixed from the crash, is loaded with Perfect and Polite Panda's stuff. Swift Heart is driving again, and Tenderheart has the front passenger seat. Polite is behing the driver, Good Luck is in the middle, and Perfect is behind the passenger side.

TH: Thanks you for salvaging our cloud car Perfect. It's the only way to fly. (Cloud car starts up) Next stop, Care-a-lot!

PO: I'll miss our little valley, Perfect. Are you sure it will be all right? (Cloud car akes off into the clouds)

PE: The valley will be fine without us. I'll guarantee it Polite.

As soon as the cloud car goes through the clouds, the blizzard blows right into the valley. A bird squacks from the cold. A young boy is pushing a young girl on a swing. They are both laughing in the tropical weather they have grown up in. A chilly wind blows through and they both stop to shiver.

Boy: What's happening? (looks around)

Girl: Let's get out of here!

As the clouds move in over the valley, we hear the villagers talk in growing panic. They are saying things like: "What's going on?", "Look out!", "Oh no!", etc.

Scene 6
The Hall of Hearts

The scene opens with the Hall of Hearts again. This time there is a happy murmuring in the background. We zoom in on the Hall and we see a banner that reads "Welcome Pandas". Two star buddies carry streamers over the banner and in front of Polite Panda, who is sitting to Good Luck Bears right. True Heart Bear is standing at the podium in front of all of the Care Bear Family. To her right is Polite Panda, and to his right is Noble Heart Horse. During True Heart Bear's speach, we will see several of the various members of the Care Bear Family listening intently. I will only describe scenes of Care Bears/Cousins who do something while listening to the speach. None of the others will be described.

TrH: Quiet, Please! Quiet. (The murmuring dies down to silence) It is my pleasure to introduce two new members of the Care Bear Family, and to solve a mystery.

We see Grumpy Bear trying to see True Heart speacking, however, Lotsa Heart Elephant's big ear is blocking his view. With an annoyed "Hmmm" (A.K.A. a grumble) Grumpy pushes Lotsa's ear out of the way.

TrH: Long ago, when all of you were very young, a pair of Care Bear cubs were frightened away from us by No Heart, and they were never seen again. Noble Heart and I searched and searched for the little cubs!

Bedtime Bear is sleeping and awakes for a moment with a "Huh?", but he is soon sleeping again.

TrH: And never gave up hope that someday they would return to their true home. Well, they finally have! That's right! (True Heart holds up the picture of the two strange cubs from the family photo album) The Care Bear Family is finally back together again! Let's hear it for (gestures to her right) Perfect and (gestures to her left) Polite (Both Pandas join True Heart at the Podium), the Long Lost Care Bears! (Loud Cheering arises from the whole family and Lotsa even trumpets with his trunk. True Heart hugs the two Pandas.) Tenderheart, do your stuff.

TH: (Holding up two fingers) Two tummy symbols coming right up!

Tenderheart's tummy symbol goes out as though he were Care Bear Staring, but it curves around first Polite (and gives her a rose symbol with a peach colored ribbon around it) - she giggles shyly - and second, the tummy symbol/stare curves around Perfect (giving him a star medal tummy symbol) - and he cheers "Yeah!".

TrH: Now that's more like it! After a little training, Perfect and Polite will be top-notch Care Bears! (A great cheer - "Yeah!!!" - arises from all of the Care Bear Family)

Scene 7
"A Little Training"

TH: Hup Two, Hup Two, Hup Two, Hup Two, Hup Two, Hup! (Tenderheart and Champ Bear [CH] are in jogging sweats running over a rainbow. They both slide down our side of the rainbow.) Whee!

Perfect (Blue sweats) and Polite (Pink sweats) are lagging behind. They are panting and wheezing when they reach the slide spot. They fall down our side of the rainbow with two "Whoa!"s. When they hit the bottom of the rainbow, we hear two "Umph!"s. Tenderheart and Cahmp come back to check on the two's progress, only to find them splayed out at the foot of the rainbow.

TH: Don't stop now Pandas, Care Bears have to be in tip-top shape, you know. (Tenderheart help Perfect to his feet, while Champ does the same for Polite)

PE & PO: "Uhnhnhn!"

The scene cuts to three pull-up bars together. Champ Bear is doing pull-ups on the bar farthest to our left. His face is covered in sweat and he lets out an "Argh!" on each up.Perfect and Polite come running over to the bars. Polite gets under the middle one, and Perfect goes to the one the farthest to our right. Polite tries to jump up and grab the bar - with a couple "Uhn"s, but she can't jump high enough. Perfect helps her up to the bar and she giggles as she can grab it. She hangs there and watches as he tries to jump up to his bar with a couple "Umph"s. He can't reach his bar, either, so she drops down and helps him up to his bar. As his paws grasp the bar, he lets out a satisfied "Huhm". He hangs there and looks down at Polite. Obviously, they are both thinking about how they are supposed to do this. Polite just shrugs up at Perfect.

The scene cuts yet again to Cloud Car training. First we see Perfect in the driver's seat and Tenderheart as the passenger. Tenderheart shows Perfect which button to push and he pushes the lower gree button labeled "Go". Tenderheart yells three "Whoa!"s as the Cloud Car zooms out, hits a cloud, loops around, hits it again, loops out several times, and crashes into a cloud as it lands, blanketing the whole car in clouds. When the clouds clear, Tenderheart crawls out of Perfect's cloud car, panting, and climbs into Polite's cloud car. Polite pushes the Stop button on the panel. The tires screach as her cloud car goes along the same path as Perfect's and Tenderheart cries out "Uhn-oh!" "Whoa!" and "Whoa!". Tenderheart climbs out of Polite's cloud car with an "Uhn".

Now, the scene cuts to tummy symbol/stare practice. Good Luck is pushing a shy Polite and Perfect to within range of a target for staring.

GL: Just aim your tummies at the target, and fire away! (Perfect and Polite both look at him. Polite kisses Good Luck on the cheek and he blushes.)

PO: Oh, you're so smart! You teach so well. And you're cute. I think you're swell.

GL: Uhn-hn (Good Luck wonders away, love-struck.)

Polite courageously walks forward, takes aim with her tummy, sighs, and uses her stare. (It starts off blueish in color, but later it is whiteish.) Polite's tummy symbol is too strong for her and she is thrown back - "Whoa!", right into Perfect - both: "Umph!". As Polite lands, her stare activates again and is out of control. Perfect is sent flying by Polite hitting him and he lands with an "Umph!". His rough landing also causes his stare to go out of control. (Perfect's stare starts out yellowish, but ends up whiteish in later scenes, too.) Swift Heart Rabbit is the first to see that Perfect and Polite's stares are out of control (maybe becasue Polite's stare is headed directly for her? ^_^). She dodges Polite's stare with a "Whoa!", however, she gets hit by Perfect's stare with a "Yeeooow!!!". She sees that descretion is sometimes the greater degree of valor and dives behind a cloud. She peeks her head above the clouds to see Polite (our left) and Perfect (our right) bouncing around, and with every bounce, sending out another burst of stare energy. They are both exclaiming, helplessly, "Whoa-oa-oa!". Good Luck nearly gets hit by one of Perfect's stares, but he manages to dodge - and exclaims "Yeow!" anyway. Good Luck dives behind a cloud to get away.

Grumpy is working on a cloud roller and one of Polite's out of control stares hits him in the behind. He yelps and then gets hit again, but this time by one of Perfect's out of control stares. Grumpy gets knocked over the cloud roller with a "Whoa-oa-oa!" and lands with and "Umph!" and a CRASH! sound.

Lotsa Heart Elephant is getting ready to eat a Peanut Butter sandwich (he still has the bread, knife, and Peanut Butter in front of him). He says "Mmmm" in preparation for his great snack. However, before he can take a bite, his sandwich is burned away by one of Polite's AWOL stares. The only thing he can say to the destruction of his snack is a confused "Huh?" and he just stares at his now empty hand. Polite and Perfect are still bouncing and emitting stares out of control.

PO: "Whoa!" "Whoa!"

PE: "Yeaaaa!" "Whoa!"

Good Luck gets some clouds and wraps up the two out of control staring Pandas with a "Hi-Ya!" Both Pandas exclaim "Whoa!" as the clouds envelope them and "Umph!" as they finally get control of their tummy symbols.

GL: (Peeks over the clouds) Don't worry Perfect and Polite. You'll get the hang of it. (Perfect and Polite look dissapointed and sad and they both sigh at their failure.)

GR, LH, & SH: (Come out of the clouds) We hope so!

Scene 8
Bedtime

We see the Care Bear Family bunk house (to the left of the afore mentioned yellow tower). It is night-time in Care-a-lot. Perfect is walking to his bed with a candle in his hand, that has a star buddy instead of a flame. Both of the Pandas are very tired. They sit, exhausted on the floor, each sighing, and then they just collapse on their sides to sleep. The star buddy floats away and Polite pulls on her nightshirt, as sleep takes both Pandas off to dreamland.

RING-A-LING-A-LING! (An alarm sounds very loudly)

GR: (Sits up in surprise and then realization dawns on his face) The Caring Alarm! Everybody up!

Lotsa Heart Elephant and Swift Heart Rabbit jump with Grumpy and run off. Bedtime [BT] tries to climb out of the bottom of his bed.

GR: Come on, come on, up, up ,up! Let's go! Let's scramble those cloud cars! (He runs past Perfect and Polite, who are awakened by all of the noise)

PO & PE: Huh? (Take off nightshirts as Bedtime walks by yawning)

GR: Let's go! Move out!

Polite and Perfect walk over to the pole that they need to slide down to get to the cloud cars. Bedtime is sleeping with his arms wrapped around the pole. Perfect gently puts Bedtime on the pole and slids him down. Then, Perfect slides down, followed by Polite. When they land at the bottom of the pole, they bounce off of the sleeping Bedtime bear's back with two "Umph!"s. Perfect's stare fires and hits the last of three of the cloud cars heading off (Grumpy Bear's cloud car). The stare knocks the car out from under Grumpy and he falls with a "Whoa-oa!" and he lands on a cloud. Grumpy is grumbling some less than friendly things at Perfect when his sister, Polite, lands on her behind and her stare fires out of control. Her stare hits the cloud out from under Grumpy, who lets out a "Wheyeow!" and hits the ground with an "Umph!". Perfect and Polite look very sad at their messing up of things once again.

GR: Can't you control those things?! (Yells from a cloud bank at Perfect and Polite) Humph! (in disgust) (Grumpy then climbs into another cloud car with a yellowish-gold bear and the cloud car zooms off, leaving Perfect and Polite behind.)

PO: Let's face it Perfect, we don't fit in and we never will. (says very sadly, almost in tears)

PE: Being a Care Bear takes a lot of skill!

Both Pandas are very sad at not fitting in. They hug each other as they walk back inside the bunk house. They stop in the doorway, where it meets the rainbow road that obviously leads into the lower story of the bunk house.

PO: Our place is in the valley. It's where we belong.

PE: Especially since everything we do is wrong.

PO: So that's it then, we've decided. But, we can't leave without a warning.

PE: You're absolutely right! That wouldn't be... Polite! (Polite smiles) We'll tell them in the morning. (Walk off sadly together)

The next morning, Good Luck Bear, Swift Heart Rabbit, Tenderheart Bear, and True Heart Bear are standing, facing the two Pandas. All present are sad, but Good Luck is probably the sadest because he cares for Polite Panda.

TrH: Are you sure you won't change your mind and stay with us?

PO: (very sadly) Living in Care-a-lot is grand, that's true. But it's the kind of life that suits only you.

PE: We grew up in the valley. It's all that we know. We miss taking care of it and watching it grow.

PO: We're very sorry and we'll miss you so. (Walks over to Good Luck) We have no choice. (Whispers sadly to Good Lcuk) We have to go. (Good Luck and Polite are in tears and they hug, for what will likely be the last time, while the others look on sadly.)

The chimes of the Caring Meter sound and everyone is stunned for a moment before Grumpy runs out of the Hall of Hearts, towards the group.

GR: Hey! Come on! (The group turns to look at Grumpy) Everyone else is on patrol and there's trouble in the valley. (Runs through the group between Perfect and True Heart)

PO: (With arm still around Good Luck, turns to him) The Valley! Oh, no!

PE: Hurry up! We've got to go!

Everyone dashes off, except Swift Heart Rabbit, who hops off.

Scene 9
Down in the Valley

The valley is covered in snow. A toucan bird is shivering under the cold snow that covers him. The winds blow the snow everywhere, and the valley is dying under all of the snow.

The cloud car flies near enough to the valley that the occupants can see the devestation. Tenderheart is driving, with Swit Heart as the passenger. Good Luck in in the middle of Perfect (behind driver) and Polite (behind passenger).

PO: Oh. no! It can't be so!

PE: The valley has never been touched by snow!

TH: Hang on! I'm going in for a landing.

The cloud car flies past some snow cliffs as it tries to land in the middle of the once tropical, now snow covered valley. The cloud car bounces twice (with all in the car saying "Whoa!" on each bounce) and then they land with a thud and a collective "Umph!" from the landing that spread snow everywhere. Perfect and Polite come running out of the cloud of snow and kneel, panting, on the hillside to see their valley.

PE: We may have helped the valley, if only we'd been here.

PO: Now everything is dying! The damage is severe.

The Care Bears come up behind the two kneeling Pandas. (From the veiwer's perspective, or "our" perspective) Swift Heart Rabbit (Back Leftmost), Perfect (Front Left), Tenderheart (Back Center), Polite (Front Right), Good Luck (Back Rightmost). Good Luck kneels down to the right of Polite.

GL: No Polite, it's not your fault. (Polite looks sadly to Good Luck) The important thing is that you've come back.

TH: Hopefully, in time to save the valley. (Gasps as a big snow cliff starts to loosen from the rest)

SH: We'd better do something fast! (Another snow cliff is starting to come loose) There's enough snow and ice around here to bury everything.

Tenderheart and the others watch in horror as the snow continues to loosen. Perfect and Polite pop up (from kneeling).

PE & PO: Everything?! (gasp) The village!!

Shows village covered in snow, and the cries of the villagers can be heard. Polite and Perfect hug as they look on helplessly.

TH: Oh no! (points to snow cliffs overhanging vilage)

GL: We've got to get those people out of there, before that snow lets go.

PO: There's only one thing to do; one thing to say.

PE: In order to save the villagers, we must talk to them...

PE & PO: TODAY!!! (All dash off to help the villagers)

A family of five (Father [Fa], Mother, and three kids) huddles together for warmth, shivering against the cold. Snow blows in the curtain door and piles up in front. The family gasps and shivers some more. Perfect and Polite pop out of the snow to talk to the family.

Fa: Who are you?!

PE: You don't know us, but we know you all. We've watched you grow since you were small.

PO: We're the Pandas. Don't you see? You've got to leave here! You've got to flee!

Fa: Go? Where?! We can't go outside, we'll freeze! Please help us! Please Pandas help us! Help!

Rumbling as the snow continues to loosen. Perfect and Polite run out of the hut to the other three waiting outside.

PO: The villagers won't leave! What'll we do?!

PE: They'll be buried in the avalanche, and we will too!

Shows a snow cliff cracking as it keeps coming loose

TH: I have an idea! If we combined all our tummy symbols into one big stare, it might be warm enough to melt the snow ledge.

PO: It's a good idea and all we've got.

PE: The villagers are depending on us, so let's give it a shot.

All five dash forward and form a Care Bear Stare line under the snow ledge. Swift Heart is next to Tenderheart, is next to Good Luck, is next to Polite, is next to Perfect. We see and hear more pictures and sounds of the snow cracking and coming loose. The snow cliff is almost ready to come down.

TH: There's our target, Care Bears! Get ready to stare!

PE: But our skill is unsteady. Our tummy symbols aren't ready!

PO: We just can't stare, like the rest of you bears.

GL: You can do it! Just put your hearts into it. You have to try. (clasps hands with Perfect Panda)

TH: Care Bears Countdown!

ALL: 4... 3... 2... 1... STARE!!!

Five stares shoot up at the snow cliff and start to melt it.

PE: The stare is working; pour it on!

PO: At the rate the snow is melting, it'll soon be go-ooone!

Perfect and Polite start to loose control of their stares again with both yelling "Whoa!"s the whole time. They start to dance around behind the Care Bear Stare line as their stares go totally out of control!

SH: Get back in line Pandas! We need you!

PO: It's no use! Our tummy symbols are too strong!

PE: Every time we use them, something goes wrong!

Both yell more "Whoa!"s as they spin and dance around from their out of control stares. The stares hit two cliffs and then the Pandas fall face first into the snow with an "Umph!". Their stares fizzle out in quickly thinning clouds of gold smoke. Swift Heart, Tenderheart, and Good Luck gasp and loose their stares. First Swift Heart's stare fails and she falls face first in the snow. Then, Good Luck's fails and he sits down exhausted. Finally, Tenderheart falls back on his back.

TH: It's no use! Three stares aren't strong enough. (Everyone tries to pick themselves out of snow) There's just too much snow! (Ice cliff cracks through and falls into the middle of the village. More screams of panic from the villagers can be heard. Polite and Perfect see this and are near tears.)

PO: Oh Perfect, What will we do?!! The valley means everything to me and to you.

PE: And if the valley is crushed, our hearts will be our!!

Another ice cliff falls into the village. Perfect sheds a tear and it fall onto his tummy symbol. The tummy symbol starts to glow. Polite also sheds a tear and it falls onto her tummy symbol, which also starts to glow. Perfect and Polite watch in surprise as their tummy symbols each emit a glowing ball with the symbols on them. The other three Care Bears turn and look at the glowing light. The glowing balls rise to the level of the snow cliffs and merge to form a heart symboled glowing ball. The glowing ball then expands to melt the snow and push the storm clouds away.

TH: This is incredible!

GL: Whoa! (As the snow he is sitting on melts away really fast and he falls to the ground)

TH: Don't you see? (Looks to the Pandas whose tummy symbols are still glowing and they are smiling as they watch their valley's rebirth) It's the Pandas love that keeps the valley alive! (The tummy symbols of the Pandas stop shining as the valley is restored.) What kept the snow out of the valley for all these years, was the warmth of the Pandas' hearts.

Shows the valley returning to normal. A toucan bird is preening on a branch and the valley is green and lush again. Birds' songs ring out across the valley once more.

SH: And when the Pandas left, the snow took over the valley.

TH: That's right! Without the Pandas... (Shows Pandas standing in the lush green of the valley giggling) the valley would die! (Pandas giggle more) The valley needs the Pandas! Just as much as they need it!

Good Luck walks over to Polite, who is with Perfect watching the valley turn green again.

GL: That's why it's important that you stay here (Blinks away tears) Your family needs you. Just as my family needs me.

PO: But you're our family, and the Care Bears are, too. If you leave the valley, what will we do?

Cheering villagers run up to the Pandas.

Fa: Oh thank you for saving us, Pandas. Please come back to the village with us. We have so much to celebrate and so much to talk about!

PO: We've shared this valley for all these years to hide from you was wrong.

PE: To come with you would be a dream we've cherished for so long.

Good Luck starts to walk sadly away from Polite and back to the other Care Bears. However, Polite pulls him back.

PO: We'll always be Care Bears, even though we're apart.

PE: We must now join our real family, our family of the heart.

All three hug. Perfect pulls Polite who pulls Good Luck for a few steps, but he pulls away to be with his family, the Care Bears. Good Luck sniffles and wipes tears away as Polite waves to him for one last time.

GL: Good bye, Polite.

PO: Not good bye, just so long.

GL: A friendship like ours is much too strong.

Tenderheart and Swift Heart run up to him and console him.

TH: Don't be sad, Good Luck Bear. With a little luck, you'll see her again, someday.

Shows the villagers happily cheering and talking with the two Pandas.

GL: You bet I will Tenderheart, 'cause "Luck" is my middle name!

Tenderheart, Good Luck, and Swift Heart watch the villagers and Pandas. The show closes as pink consumes the screen from the outside in leaving a deminishing heart shape as it moves in.

The End
